Look out! A big yellow moose

I left out of Edmonton early this morning and got a jump on the day's travel. Soon after leaving I entered an area full of dense woods and marshy ponds. I also found out Canada warns vehicle traffic of moose by posting huge yellow moose shaped signs by the roadway. Although I didn't see any moose today, I did see a coyote along side the road.

I crossed over into British Columbia and then came to Dawson Creek, the beginning of the Alaska Highway. It's pretty much a straight shot to Fairbanks (a 1400 mile shot).

Slinky has been learning French along the way. My three daughters take French in school, so when we make the trip again later this year they will have a good opportunity to practice what they've learned.
