I ate a hearty breakfast at the lodge and hit the road. The lodge receptionist asked which direction I was traveling. When I told her north, she warned me about predicted afternoon snowfall (which I ran into about 5:00 just outside of Whitehorse, YT).
This day too was filled with mountains, snow, and more roadside game. I had to stop twice for road crossing game, once for caribou and another time for buffalo. The caribou was skittish and ran
I finally came out of the mountains during the mid-afternoon and then skirted the Liard River,
Once I arrived at Whitehorse I was ready to find a hotel and relax. My day was made up of about 450 miles at an average speed of 50 mph. Although the scenery was great, this made for a long day.
