Gateway to the 49th state

I left out of Whitehorse this morning and crossed the Alaskan border mid-afternoon. Road conditions were greatly improved compared to the previous days so travel was more pleasant.

I came across more roadside animals to include a fox searching for a meal along the ditch. He was more concerned about dinner than he was of me.

With mountain ranges and vast views surrounding me on all sides, I stopped to take many pictures. It's just hard to determine which photos to post.

I only have 250 miles left until I arrive in Fairbanks. I decided to stop in Tok, AK last night instead of pressing on to Fairbanks. It was late afternoon when I arrived in Tok and didn't want to take the risk of hitting a moose in the dark so close to the completion of my 4300 mile trip.

It was 11 degrees today and it's only mid-November. My landlord said this is unusually warm; he said it's usually well below -10 by now.

It has been amazing to watch your trip to the Great White North. Please keep this bog going because I have enjoyed it so much. I am so happy that you were able to stop and see Mom and Dad. Bundle up warm because it's going to be a wild ride! Take care of yourself!!
