Crossin' the border, eh.

Slinky and I left out of Helena, MT Monday and crossed the Rocky Mountains at Flesher Pass, between Helena and Lincoln, MT.

While driving through Seeley Lake, MT I noticed this fella overlooking a field in search of dinner. The picture does not do him justice, he was at least 12" tall.

Once I got in Lincoln, I met with my old partner for a quick visit. Lincoln is as I remember, full of deer lounging around town in people's yards.

I arrived that evening in Columbia Falls, MT to visit my aunt and uncle and stay the night. When I left Tuesday morning the temperature was about 25 degrees. My drive started by skirting the south end of Glacier National Park. Slinky ran into his first snow, and I ran into my first icy road in five years.

The drive by Glacier is wonderful with many great views of the mountains in the park. The mountain photo is just a small taste of what you really see as you make this drive.

After passing Glacier I soon got to the border and after a brief meeting with Canadian Immigration I entered Alberta. I drove north and stopped in Edmonton. When I arrived at the hotel the temperature was about 35 degrees.

That would be the Great Gray Owl. It eats small rodents like voles and pocket gophers. I would hate to have a gopher in my pocket.
