Deadwood is an interesting little town of about 1,500 people. It mainly consists of classic turn of the century brick buildings, nearly all turned into either a casino, restaurant, or hotel. I was able to visit the site of the No.10 Saloon where Hickok was killed. Slinky wanted to play cards, but I told him to stay away from a hand of aces and eights, which has been named the deadman's hand due to Wild Bill having aces and eights in his hand when he was shot.

Aces and Eights
I had a long day yesterday. I went from Missouri Valley, Iowa to Deadwood, South Dakota (about 570 miles). How was the drive? To answer that, all one would have to do is look at a map of South Dakota. The I-90 stretch is straight and there are no features to look at; this drive turns you into a zombie after a few hundred miles.
We ended the day driving through Sturgis, SD and then onto Deadwood, SD. If you're not familiar with Deadwood, its the gold prospecting town made famous by the death of Wild Bill Hickok (also by a recent HBO series with the same title).
